I recently just got back from my annual Christmas trip to Bonaire, and when I mean recently, it was actually three weeks ago. But in all honesty, my mind is still kind of on vacation mode.

During the last couple days of my vacation, I discovered an abandoned shrimp farm while touring the southern part of the island. I’d driven by the building many times before but never considered going in. Now the shrimp farm was used to export shrimp from the island, but it has long been completely empty, with just the remains of what used to be. You know me with my love of run down, deserted buildings, I just had to check it out. It turned out to be photographic magic for me! There’s something so beautiful about pure chaos…

New Website, New Look

Summer Airlift News- United Airlines

Summer is one of the best times to travel to the island. Crowds are lighter and there are no lines or parking fees to access the beach. Come learn to dive, kite surf or windsurf. Snorkelers will revel in the perfect conditions with over 50 shore sites to explore. Summer in Bonaire is bliss.

Thanks to United, it’s never been easier to visit Bonaire. Commencing June 12, 2016, United will offer a second non-stop flight from Newark to Bonaire every Sunday.

The southbound Bonaire flight will depart Newark International Airport (EWR) on Sunday at 9:00am, arriving in Bonaire International Airport (BON) at 1:45pm. The northbound return flight will depart BON at 2:45pm, and arrive at EWR at 7:50pm. The Sunday non-stop flight is slated to run through August 2016.

In addition to the Sunday flight, United will still offer their Saturday non-stop service from EWR to BON. The southbound United flight UA1422 will depart EWR every Saturday at 9:00 am, and arrive at BON 1:45 pm. The northbound United flight UA1420 will depart BON every Saturday at 2:45 pm, and arrive at EWR 7:50 pm.
