Locals and tourists in the know make it a point to stop at Mi Banana on Nikkiboko Nord for fresh fish and homemade Columbian style desserts. This small low key hole in the wall is not fancy in appearance but the quality of food is superb. A group of 8 of us recently dined on fresh fish. My friend Larry snapped a photo above of his delicious locally caught red snapper. Most of us had Dradu/Mahi Mahi. Each comes with a side of two starches, fries, boiled yucca, fried yucca or rice. The salad was amazing. There are 2 sauces, pika or homemade pepper sauce and an avocado sauce. Our waiter, Carlos, the owner’s son offered us several fresh juice selections. I chose passion and mango with some Bacardi to heat it up. The desserts include homemade flan, passion fruit desserts and more. Save room to enjoy one of these delectable treats. It’s a lively bar with workers ending the day waiting for their take out. The setting is friendly and there is plenty of parking on the street.
Heel lekker!!
