Swine Flu and Travel

I am a licensed agent for Travel Guard Insurance. Due to the recent outbreak of swine flu it’s a good time to remind you, BUY TRIP INSURANCE.

I am again strongly recommending Cancel for Any Reason Protect Assist Trip Insurance. Purchase within 15 days of your first payment for the best coverage. There is no reported Swine Flu in Bonaire. I have seen many clients lose significant money when they would not have had they purchased trip insurance. Most clients save all year for their two weeks in paradise. Surely the investment is worth the added protection of trip insurance. Hurricane season commences in June. If you are headed to the Caribbean it is even more prudent to be covered. Air Lift Update

April 25, 2009

With the struggling economy some flight adjustments have been made impacting service to Bonaire.

AA ceases service to Bonaire May 1. They may reinstate service in Nov.

The JFK BON leg with Delta ends June 20 and returns Nov. 1.

The EWR BON leg with Continental is on hold Sept. 5- Oct. 31.

The second Sat. night red eye on Continental from Houston ends April 30, reinstates for July and Aug. and then stops Sept.- Nov. commencing Dec. 1.

Oct. 4 Delta commences a new flight from Atlanta operating on Friday nights. My clients are finding super low air deals for peak travel dates so call Delta today. The return is Sat. AM.

Caesar Finies, Light Wind Wiz

Caesar Finies is the island’s best light wind freestyler. When he is not working in the shop at Jibe City he is in the water tossing his sail into the air or dazzling the crowd with some similiar crazy trick. You can meet Caesar at the East Coast Windsurfing Festival June 2009 on Long Island. Young Ezri Heymans arrives as well to show off his freestyle repetoire. Bonaire comes to the US June 2009.

Wil’s Tropical Grill

Sue and Wil Heemskerk have created a Caribbean oasis in sleepy Kralendijk Bonaire. I have been dining at their restaurants for about 8 years and never tire of Wil’s creative cuisine. A two star Michelin chef, Wil’s menu is both creative and diverse utilizing a colorful palate of fresh ingredients. Most of my clients seek out fresh local fish. Wil and Sue only offer fresh fish so when you drive by and see Mahi Mahi on the menu, run, don’t walk in.

Maggie, my daughter loves their Caesar Salad with crisp romaine wrapped lovingly in procuitto and shaved aged parmesan. My favorite is the calamari salad with crisp calamari and fresh greens in a lovely Indonesian style dressing.

The garden setting is serene and the experience unrushed and relaxing.
Wil’s is open for dinner Monday – Sat. serving at 6 PM. Reservations are recommended. Leave room for dessert. It’s decadent and delicious.

Yesterday Mother Nature brought back a healthy dose of the trades in the range of oh, 30 knots. It’s a stellar week to be windsurfing on Bonaire.
