ArkeFly will continue with its 2nd flight to Bonaire for the winter season Amsterdam to Bonaire, 2011/2012. There will be a change in flight schedule. As of November 1st 2011 their travel days will be Tuesday and Saturday. On Tuesdays the flight will be a combination with Curaçao, on Saturdays with Aruba.

KonTiki Beach Bonaire received Travel Life Gold Award
Travelife is a world wide independent auditor working on behalf of the International Federation of Tour Operators, which represents 13 national associations in Europe. Travelife audit all the various aspects of the hospitality industry, including hotels.
The award was given after an on-site inspection by an auditor of Travel Service International Solutions, followed by a series of questions to ensure that the benchmarks and criteria established are met.
The audit consisted of an extensive accommodation checklist on the following topics:
– Responsible/Sustainable Tourism policy
– Environmental Management
– Energy
– Water
– Waste
– Purchasing
– Community Support
– Staff Issues
– Customer Communications
KonTiki achieved a total of 479 points out of a maximum of 492, and this high score determined the achievement of the gold award. Participating tourism organizations can automatically reflect the award status with a logo in their brochures, on websites and in other marketing materials.
The driving force behind KonTiki’s successful application were owners Miriam & Martin van Bekkum. Asked for comments, they said: “It is extremely satisfying to achieve such a prestigious award. The process was very detailed, and we feel very proud that KonTiki has received this certification. Apart from the satisfaction, this award underlines KonTiki’s commitment towards their goals to score highly in environment sustainability in the hospitality sector”.

One of my favorite restaurants is Wil’s Tropical Grill. My friends Sue and Wil are the most incredible people and the setting is restful and charming. Of course Wil prepares healthy and tasty food including always fresh fish and lovely desserts.
