Kiri Thode, NB61, is undeniably, the 2013 PWA Freestyle World Champion. Hailing from the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire, Kiri recently dominated in his heats while competing in Sylt Germany. The final stop of the PWA Freestyle Tour, Sylt’s conditions are cold and fierce. Kiri prevailed and won top honors.
I met this windsurf rock star in 2001.This windsurf athlete exemplifies grit and resilience. Hard work pays off. Also, having an entire island supporting and loving and believing in you helps to the end. But, this is not the end for Kiri. He will be seen on future windsurf podiums. Kiri represents windsurf brilliance.

Hotel Roomer, a boutique property in Belnem is a lovely oasis for peace and respite. The property, situated minutes from kite beach and over 20 dive and snorkeling shore spots, is restful and accommodating. I love the restaurant and pool area. Being greeted by Blue and Sena, the two lovely Shar Pei’s is always a pleasure.

Nancy Hart has created an oasis at Namaste Relaxation Studio in Bonaire. I have been visiting Nancy for my spa services going on two years. The spa is a nurturing restful escape offering comfortable surroundings including a zen garden and outdoor treatment center. Inside the cool low lit treatment room is a haven and sanctuary. Nancy’s specialities include her Pedi Spa, the ultimate spa pedicure. The pedicure is like no other. Nancy offers a headset with meditation music to relax while she tends to your feet. She is gentle, nurturing and thorough. The setting is immaculate with state of the art equipment.
Today, I enjoyed a lovely Ultrasonic Deep Cleansing Facial. This was the most amazing 90 minute facial experience. After many steps including the deep cleansing, my skin is rosy pink and glowing.

I have recently inspected Bonaire’s premiere windsurf property, Lac Bay Villa. This is truly Bonaire’s only windsurf villa nestled at the base of Lac Bay. The villa affords splendid views of the windsurf “playground” and enjoys refreshing trades blowing constantly. The owners are windsurfers thus have created a windsurf oasis. There is a star gazing deck by night or a sunning platform by day. The gourmet kitchen is perfect for entertaining. There is an kitchen island for entertaining. The property comes with high speed internet, AC in the bedrooms and all the comforts needed for a windsurf getaway.
